Packers running back Ty Montgomery is, in fact, a running back. (And he’s also sticking with No. 88, in case you’ve been living under a rock.)
Montgomery understands the questions about his jersey number because, as he put it, “it’s not normal.” But at the same time, Montgomery knows a jersey number doesn’t define him, and he’s taking care of his body to stay ready for a full 16-game season.
“Maybe if I had a 20 or a 30, then there wouldn’t be as many doubts about what I could do,” Montgomery said of his jersey number.
